Photo: Karen Stemmle. Georgian Peaks is a special place and once a year, we have 13 of us from the CAST Alumni Group who get together to inspire the next generation of little champions. We have an official alumni ski day with the kids where we ski with the kids and tell stories. Present this year: John Mealey, Angela Gougeon, Todd Brooker, Mark Kinoshita (‘95/‘96 Cdn Telemark Team), Michael Lambert (Newest member at Peaks - Snowboard Alpine), me, Tyler Nella & brother Brian! Ski for Life

Each month, M&H Thibeault (CAST '97-'98), sets out to compile the Pioneers’ newsletter with uncertainties about exactly how much content she’ll have to share. Time and time again, she receives wonderful content from Alumni, and before she knows it, the page fills up with many great updates! This news is a constant reminder of our community’s richness and broad reach. Thanks to all of the alumni who have contributed!

Catch up with the latest updates from our Alpine Canada Trailblazers in the links to the newsletters below. Please keep the info coming into M&H by emailing her at info@alpinecanada.org, it's a great way to keep in contact with the ski racing community.

In this issue catch up with new alumnus, Braydon Luscombe, watch as Rhona and Rhoda Wurtele receive the Order of Canada, catch up on the latest updates on the Audi 2019 Canadian Ski Racing Awards and our alumni in the field making a difference and inspiring the next generation.

In this issue, catch up with Serge Dugas where you can catch a full interview about his more than three decades of experience supporting Canada's fastest racers. Several articles also contain links to interviews with alumnus Jim Hunter, Mélanie Turgeon, Kate Pace, Sherry Lawerence and more.

In this issue, we wish happy birthday to Lucile Wheeler Vaughan, the first Canadian to win an Olympic Medal in skiing, a bronze in downhill at 1956 Olympics. Also, the first Canadian to win the Hahnenkamm 1957, downhill and combined.
